The cosmetology industry is recession-proof and has enjoyed an average annual growth of 35% every year for the past six years. Tranquility Design Academy, one of the countries' up and coming cosmetology schools, originated with a very successful salon, the Tranquility Day Spa & Salon. Tranquility has won many awards and has been ranked in the top 45 salons by the Washingtonian magazine since 2003. During its first seven years, Tranquility Salon has apprenticed several stylists who have in turn climbed to the top 2% of stylists' incomes worldwide. The Tranquility Design Academy offers a unique learning environment where we can share Tranquility Salon's proven systems for success with the stylists of tomorrow. Our dream is to change the salon industry one student at a time.

The Virginia Cosmetology course requires 1,500 hours. With the TDA full-time program, students can complete their hours within 10 months. During those 1,500 hours, we take our students to a new level of learning at our state-of-the-art facility. Small, intimate class sizes allow the one-on-one teaching needed to create an environment that truly cultivates learning. At TDA we put student needs at the forefront, and in turn our graduates will have the knowledge, confidence, communication skills, technical expertise and business systems necessary to quickly climb into the top 20% of the salon industry.

We are looking for students who are honest, kind, hardworking, willing to learn and serious about becoming a true professional in the salon industry. Do you love fashion? Make-up? At TDA you will be taught by a vibrant, upbeat and extremely positive team that loves to teach and pass on the knowledge you need to succeed. Students' time will be split between lectures, guest speakers, demonstrations, hands-on practical training and salon floor experience.
